Build Estimate Details
This is an example of what a custom build would cost on a good condition CX500 donor bike. With the engine only requiring minor maintenance, $6,500 will get you fresh paint on the tank and frame (basic scheme), a good running non-leaking engine, a basic digital gauge system, updated wiring, new lithium ion battery, custom frame mods to fit a new seat, new tires, new shocks, rebuilt forks, new wheel bearings, new brakes, new cables if needed, and everything working as it should. The condition of the donor bike can really change the price, but in general, things like a rebuilt or bored out engine, motogadget gauge, custom tank paint (multiple colors), Tuffside seat, and Ohlins shocks raise the price. We will do everything we can to make sure that we maintain your budget, if we have any issues along the way we will contact you and discuss solutions.
Build time is typically 12 to 16 weeks from the scheduled start time, but this is subject to change. These builds are custom one-off builds and it can be very difficult to source parts/build parts for these machines. We cannot guarantee a build complete time, but we can guarantee that when it is ready, it will be to the highest of standards. We will not let anything leave the shop until it is 100%. During the build, we will be in contact with you throughout the process, giving you updates with pictures as the build progresses.
